The Problem: I'm about a millisecond away from buying a plane ticket to Kathmandu for a month and to take a class at a Himalayan shaman... school... thing, and, like...

I don't know the point, actually. Hm. Something about not needing stuff right now.

I'm a hypocrite.

Fuck.

It's gorgeous.

Seriously, I say, if you feel so connected to it and want it, then, by all means, keep it! I'm sure I'm not the only one who understands ;)

*laughs* I figured it had to be one or the other ;) Hell, for all we know it's something completely different and they're just calling it a hair pin because they're out of other ideas.

I'm the same way. I have tons of photos from art exhibits that have never seen the light of day because I'm too lazy to compile and label them. lol. Don't feel bad ;)

Hair pin! I'm really bad at giving context to things. Shit. Sorry.

Anyways, yeah. It was one of the nicer things they had. Some day I'll get the really good stuff up. The Goth/Rus bits are really pleasant to look at.

I AM LAZY.

Is that second one a hair ornament or an amphora stopper? Either way, it's elegant in its simplicity. Especially when compared to the crazy ornateness of the others! That sword is pretty awesome, though I don't know so much about the wild boar's head.

There... are really no words. That's horrible. (Even if, separately, the rainbow drusy agate is quite pretty.)

Thanks for reading it.

And is there anything in the world that wasn't definitely covered in The Princess Bride?! Peanuts. Land wars. It's all there.

I think that's why I was so drawn to your work in the first place. There's a realism, a passion to your pieces that are truly inspired. Amidst all the pretty shiny trinkets out there that one might choose to represent their connection to this world, yours have that dirty, grungy, meaningful quality that you just can't find in the more mass produced pieces.

I still adore the Mjolnir you crafted for me and wear it all the time!

Westley, from The Princess Bride, said it best, "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."

Optimism will only get you so far. At some point, you have to mix in a healthy dose of reality and realize that an existence full of rainbows, happiness and light only happens in the movies. I always hope for the best expecting the worst. It hasn't saved me from feeling the disappointments and cheap shots that life throws my way, but it's certainly helped me have a healthy sense of humor about it all. :)
